In a world of gift bearers and jokes one and the same they'd present themselves at your door without any name "pardon me lady, pardon me sir take this boxed gift that has you miffed forgive my green, forgive my slur"... Recipient facile in boxed domiciles snatches boxes that contain themselves answers to the whim of the gifted elves It's a world of bearers and courtiers alike next door, a blue collared man's on strike he too gets a gift of a jack in the box that's what he got when he answered the knock... World of necklace wearers and trinket hawkers districts of gift givers and sock stalkers one and the same with endless names there initiates a nod and jest with chagrin you sign for the rest regained composure once its signed but its disclosure is a secret kind cause you received that parceled gift on a lonely day that had you miffed you were a recipient facile thronged at suburban domiciles. |

Well... at least you got something, eh? I like your vocabulary and the "lingering afterthought" this poem left with me. -MVS You CAN make a difference: |

I have to admit I liked this a lot better the second time I read it. I'm going to save it for a third read. |

Interesting in a lot of ways. Multi-read. Is it about harassed by door salespeople, friends making fools, fragments of live breaking into dormant life, a threat or a pleasure. Dave |

Hello friends, I like the multiple meanings one can get for this a swell...and there are several inferences, including the foolish gift giver, the dishonest door to door salesman, the niave householder...or all in one and one in all. Martin |
