Slipping into Freud

Funny how words can trickle down
without giving them too much thought.
And those slips so sheer I often wear,
decorated sometimes with naught.

Clinging they are, until released
from lips that hold desire.
Freud would be so proud of me
in all of my attire.

Influenced not easily,
I encore when in demand.
So wonderful when feeling up
in Freudian slippers, grand.

A part of me that shyness holds,
through words can be expressed.
But only in the written text
do I become undressed.

Yes, Freud would be confused by me
if ever met, it seems.
So I will keep my fantasies
to "slipping into dreams."

And, Maureen, you can "play with words"
as well as  anyone  I know!!
Very good writing, as always, my friend.

This is really great, Maureen.  Humorous and thought out well.  It's great reading the lighter side of you.

I identify with this stanza so much. That is exactly how I feel sometimes. Very cleverly written poem. I love how you can play with your words like that.
