Weary words run down the page Tired of trying to say what I mean They get so tired they cannot see The ways my mind wants to weave I chase the words to no avail They get away will I ever prevail To catch the right ones I need just now To say the pictures I see inside To paint the sounds I must decide See how mixed my metaphors reveal See how hard my inner bells peal So many writes I cannot tell Their number or how the good they spell Sometimes when I read the words I cannot believe from me they came Maybe they say things I harbor deep Or reflect a language only they can speak It seems sometimes they hum Sometimes they whisper and then glum They say how much I love being a grandpa Sometimes I cannot tell what they say It is those times I need others to say Here is what I see and hear Those insights come from those who risk being near So I say thanks to all Who read and say just what they saw Or heard or wept or felt My heart keeps trying to make sure I have dwelt On things I need to say or show Sometimes so much I just don’t know [This message has been edited by Goodknight (12-31-2003 10:20 AM).] |

Sometimes when I read the words I cannot believe from me they came Maybe they say things I harbor deep Or reflect a language only they can speak It seems sometimes they hum Paul, I really relate to this part. I do the same thing sometimes with what I write. Hugs Ethel |

hehe...I read this, and I wanted to ask you...have you ever been saying something, and realized you had never said it before, or never heard anyone say it but as you hear yourself say it you wonder did that come out of my mouth? hehe..This made me think of that. Scratching head..did that make sense? Terri~ Well I will go down with this ship |

Paul...I think this is one of my favorites of yours...it is so honest, and it is something I think that all of us have felt at one time or another. Thank you for posting this touching piece of what you are feeling. |

Paul, what do I say? I felt like I had been in the middle of a mighty tornado... that's what I say! The immediate striking to heart of what needs to be said without a pause or a hint of breath being taken, only the constant chatter of "did I do it right" leads me to believe that you do everything in write, right! Sometimes when I read the words I cannot believe from me they came Maybe they say things I harbor deep Or reflect a language only they can speak This is so true, Paul. Usually right after I write a poem, I can't even recall the words and then months/years later when I run across one of them I wonder who wrote it..can't be coming from me... Happy New Year, Paul Maureen [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (12-31-2003 06:15 AM).] |
