Lie to me
and see
that I have learned
not to question
the reason for skin
beside me.

What more
do I need to know
of comfort?

For as long
as any moment

it is warm here

lie to me
always.

Damn....
and that's no lie.

.........just damn!!

    In the midst of winter..
I found there lives within me,
    an invincible summer.

tell me lies...tell me sweet little lies...

Perhaps it is best to let sleeping dogs lie.  (No pun intended) Sometimes there are no answers to the question in the first place. Good call Duncan, gotta love your inspiration.

Whatever works I say!

If she knows that scalawag 'Deer or that rascal Toe, she'll have lots of really good lies to tell, too, Dunc.

This poem was nicely written.

If we accept a lie then we are but just lying to ourselves....in the end every one ends up hurt..

Doesn't sound like much fun to me and maybe something we all know too well..

But, you ole porch puppy, I agree with Susan above...
lies just hurt too much when the truth is found out.

Now, if it's all a game the two are playing, it's more like fantasy...
but in most situations, one of the couple is as serious
as can be, and is far from wanting to play games.

Well, didn't mean to get so longwinded. I guess that
I was lied so much to by my late husband, that it just struck me.

A good write that was thought-provoking, Dunc.
Hugs to you,
Ethel

LOL, is that collar too tight tonight?
ROTFL, and loved Lori's reply.
Aw, porch puppies always get hugs, no matter what.

OK, I'm waiting for the growl.

:::::::::jumping off the soap box::::::::::

Would you believe, someone had the nerve to recently tell me I analyze too much?

The gall....

(In case you didn't get it, Duncan, I enjoyed the writing..it provoked a lot of emotion)

Unfortunately...I'm always telling the truth, because lieing (??) takes too much energy.

Ok I'll try....I hate it (see? I can't lie very good, people always know when I'm telling a lie)

beautiful written (and that's the truth!) Titia

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow
