Me and My Little Red Chainsaw Not many gals in my neighborhood play around with a chainsaw, but I figure a gal has to do what she has to do. One fine summer day, I was a walkin’ outside in the side yard. I spied the old evergreen a growin’ and spreading her limbs right onto the house. Now I’m not rich, so to Sears I do drive. A lightweight chainsaw is what I need. Never cut a thing down in all my life, a new experience this will be. A lightweight, bright red chainsaw I did buy. To the evergreen I did go a sayin’, “Look out tree here I come, this limb I will take.” I start to saw with all my might, the tree grabs hold of that little ol’ red chainsaw. Wouldn’t give an inch and no way no how was she goin’ to give her back. I pull and tug; the tree will not release my little red chainsaw. I go to the neighbors sayin’, “Please help me my saw is stuck in the tree.” We pull and tug and tree will not let her go. I go in the house and get a little tiny dull handsaw and begin to gnaw. I work into to the night, turn on the lights so I can see. I saw and saw....................................................................I work up a sweat. Finally! The tree says in her tree like way, “Okay! You can have your little ol’ chainsaw back.” Another time I think I’ll trim the bushes, they have grown to about six feet tall, I’m only five feet. So as anyone can see, I have mighty low bushes after I get done with them. Well, anyway, I start to trim, the bushes won’t let go of the chainsaw and the chain falls off. Down to the neighbor on the corner I do go a sayin’, “Will you show me how to put this silly ol’ chain back on.” Back home I start to cut; the chain comes off........ Sigh! Well I’m not going to bother my neighbor once again. It’s three in the afternoon when I started, by seven o’clock I have that ol’ chain back on. I say to myself, “Well it’s about time.” Well folks, me and my little ol’ red chainsaw have had quite a time. It’s wintertime now; the chainsaw is packed away until spring. Guess I’ll have more stories to tell come spring, telling you about Me and My Little Red Chainsaw. Love Bon-Bon |

Psst, Bonnie, yanno that funny looking handle with the rope tied on it? If you pull that handle a few times, that ol' saw will make all kinds of noise and you'll work wonders on that pesky evergreen! lol This was a very cute story. Are we gonna hear about the rototiller next Spring? *hopeful eyes* |
