why hearts whine
a twine of string
held beneath a callous hard
loving grooves of fingering
satin wood beneath the chin
the bow shreds pieces
of doveskin--
thin, so thin,
the strings sing reed
just one stitch of too much need
is all it takes to make her bleed,
but he tapped a measured toe -

letting silence take the note,
breathing in the sweet.

"held beneath a callous hard

Just curious, did you mean callous "hand"?

Anyhow, your writing is beautifully done -- as alawys!  lol........jo

thank you...and I swear I thought I had a pic of Uncle Thurman--I'll have to remedy that.

And Iliana? (that IS a lovely name) the callous hard was on his hand, so I suppose both descriptions apply.

My Uncle Thurman was a fine fiddler--and he left me with a finer appreciation of blue grass music and deer in the wild.

Love to you all.

Happy New Year.
