I'm sorry if anyone finds this offensive and it will be removed if the comments are negative. Howver, I would not be offended if the poem was written from the other point of view: I would, in fact, find it enlightening and thats how I hope people find this poem. Many thanks. SECTARIANISM They say I am an invader, my church: old fashioned and strict, But I am happy and proud that its traditions don't change so quick. They argue and say my religion is not home grown, But then they take it and try to make it their own. They killed our brothers and sisters in huge amounts, Thats what they did; the lying, lazy, Lucifer's leading louts. When I think of those murderous days in all the bloody years, And one of them is killed, deep down inside, I let out a silent cheer. I hate how it has saddened and concerned millions of people, But what I hate more is my hatred: my growing evil. Is it a world full of anger and hatred? 'Tis, Because through my young, angry eyes, that is what a protestant is. |
