If it’s true that love songs of the past never last past the moment of regret, why is it that I sometimes find myself listening for your same old tune? We were always out of sync, without rhyme most the time, and two steps apart from a meeting of the heart. Guess those old tunes have a way of hiding between the ears and sliding out into the open at the least opportune moment. Finales are known for that. |

so,so true like others have said. I liked the meaning of this poem and the smoothness of the flow. It set me reminiscing of an old flame that tends to pop up now and agian just as you described.
