Myth of Mind

“I am really having problems
putting words together...I have ideas,
but by the time I sit down to write,
I disregard my notions...thinking they
are not worthy of pen to paper.
I have been in this mode before
and pushed past it, forcing myself to write.
I have been unable to get past this "block."
Have you ever been in this place?
It's not fun!”

…and the note was signed by this friend,
a poet in her own right…and
a sad smile crosses my face, that mundane
of day to day should cause her to
experience a block of light…

for I know strength in her words,
the heat of her desires
to scratch it down before day’s firelight fades…

when twilight turns down
the night.

But in my mind, I see her persist, and keep on,
for she is made of finer stuff,
and will not be blind sided
by this writer’s block…

so when she reads this, and I know
she will…

I will remind her, there is no such thing, really,
as this block…yes, perhaps something else
is calling to her to be done,
but the words shall come…

the words shall come to trip
her merrily,

for all of her is more than worthy.
She shall become…. a tradition.

Yes, Patricia, this was for you.

Smiling...

May I say...I had missed her too...and the block thing...
We put in places too tender to allow to flow.

Toasting the break through,
The trip to paper, letting go of before, and allowing now to happen.

Believe and receive...like Sy said.

Karilea dear lady, I am red faced as I was sure this was about me.   By the way....have you seen Annabelle anywhere? Last time I saw her she was wearing mistletoe in her hair and little else.
Love this read. hugs, Chris

Karilea,

First, thank you for being you!

Second, I am attempting to push past this, knowing admitting/acknowledging this "block" to you has made the difference. Although time remains a hinderance, I do believe this notion I hold is worthy of pen to paper.  And now as it takes form in my mind and then on paper (much of it scribblings and scratchings at this time) I do believe it will develop into what I need it to be.

Now, I have a little girl who wants her bath...but I will hold onto my notions and when all is quiet in my home, I will it flow merrily!

God bless you, my friend.

Love,
Patricia

This was beautifully written, Karilea, but you made one glaring mistake.  My name isn't Patricia!
