THE WISHING FAIRY In her hands a crystal ball, compact, neat, and clean, professes to attest to what the future holds but from behind her smile a fear in her awakes and pushes from her eyes the tears of one afraid. Fearful lest one day her newfound wings will die and keep her from returning into her innate power she draws from eons past the best that’s made to last and contemplates in heart her most important miracle. But images once bold slowly fade to pale, perceptions once clear become as if unreal, and time zones overlap like a folded map until she must rely on only what she feels. And she feels the force of love come alive within but folds her wings again, returns again to dream, and stares again into the ball for crystal clarity as to why she should be waiting and still anticipating. She should rather look at the power love can bring and how a mind’s rigid lines can veer and tilt sideways to seek and find a miracle in this bubble called a life and attract it to herself by the power of belief. The innate power of love together with belief is the miracle we seek to manifest our dreams, and our wishes, and our hopes, to not forever wait and remain like the wishing fairy static in a wish! BRAVO, an excellent write, Helen. Enjoyed the crystal ball, the cyberspace view, the longing, yearning and anticipation in this piece. I especially enjoyed this: and time zones overlap like a folded map until she must rely on only what she feels. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (12-28-2003 12:14 AM).] |

Thank you, Midnitesun, for your response. If we knew what we could do, I wonder, would we try or would we be too scared to fly byways of the mind? |

Thank you very much Amy for the read and for your good wishes. I hope I can continue to be inspiring but, of course, I do believe I will unlike the wishing fairy who merely sits and wishes. (Oh, the poem was inspired by my son's gift to me - a little china wishing fairy) |

Your writing is both powerful and magical, and always I find clarity in your honest expression. Wishing you a Happy New Year~ God Bless you, Helen dear~ |

The innate power of love together with belief is the miracle we seek to manifest our dreams, and our wishes, and our hopes, to not forever wait and remain like the wishing fairy static in a wish! I loved the entire poem, the conclusion has me in "AWE". Wonderful write. I look so forward to more of your work, I love the interplay of fantasy with realism, wonderful job!! |

Thank you, Bluesy! Christmas is over and the New Year awaits. May it bring our most important miracles but remember, if not this year, then maybe next! Take care! |

Hi, Ravenwolfvoyager! Thank you so much for your lovely response. I'm thinking life is just that - a mixture of fantasy and realism - but who is to say just which one is real? May 2004 be kind to you! |
