Thirty years I’ve traipsed these boards
and no matter how I sweep them
Like my acting - in vain
But the money still keeps them
Alive in my heart
No matter how I still it
And those immortable words
I was Macbeth and beat them

For the cocao on the window sill

When all else is lost
A stone, a wall and hopefully
Poetry will be written

These are great Dave, these are very enjoyable and smartly put together . Very compelling to find the simpilest things in life can sometimes fill our lives with torment. Again I enjoy these and looked forward to more of your work.

How did this excellent poem slip through with only one reply?

I will never understand these forums!

Thanks for the comment.

I suppose when I edited it I lost some of the flow

I did cut a lot from the original

I prefer the original to be honest but it seemed too long winded when I reviewed it
