Twisting, turning, downward drifting, Parts of me through time are sifting, While I wish you were with me, Ending this waiting agony. You've been gone so long so far away Though I dream about you every day. I cry to you to no avail, For you cannot hear my mournful wail. Dried and decayed like a winsome reed Neglected from the waters to feed, For without you I'm without rain Never finding solace from my pain. My flesh it blisters from the heat Rotting, decaying, dying meat, For dying I am without your rain Heatstroked, drying, parched with pain. Come back and free my wilting heart, Free my limbs, water my parts. Help me end this endless pain, Quench my thirst with your loving rain. |
