She always looks towards tomorrow, That was just her way, Quickly forgetting each sorrow, Barely within the realm of today. Always with a smile to lend, A bouncy step and twinkle in her eye, To everyone she is a friend. She often forgot to brush her hair And make-up she hadn’t any, But then she didn’t have a care, And often had not a penny, I haven’t seen her in quite a while And am not sure where she’s gone But I do miss that always smile. There is a poem, somewhere, that encompasses a thought in passing, so that surely, you knew she thought of you, thinking of her. Or perhaps that poem just needs to be written. |

Professor, This one sounds like my dad! The little twinkle and always a smile and a lending hand! He was aloof to the spots on his lenses and tie--had better things to do than think about himself. I enjoyed your write. This one was a little different, lighter than your others-a nice surprise, although, your other work is excellent! Maybe you'll see that always smile again, or, perhaps, it will be you wearing it and sharing it with others. That's silly-you already do! Happiest holidays to you and yours!
