A sole raft of rotten planks I do ride, Dark storms flank, and turn to fight my will; I cannot find refuge upon this tide, But I shall unearth truth, reclusive, still; Waves of hate and distrust refuse my heed, Gusts of spiteful wind torment my tired soul; An albatross, would be all that I need, A gift of luck to lead me home, a gull; To free my sails, from the relentless wind, A golden map in the heavens to guide, A moment of peace, to beg for my sin; I turn the ship and hope, new lands to hide, But better fortune does not wait for me, So I shall return to my loving sea. |
