in the shadows

Wicked walks the Wonderling
wandering the western winds
on mistral wings,
whispering
within the wounded spider webs
of the shadow world.

The Dryad darlings
of the deepest forest
dance in visions,
braided within
dreams' visions
and sweet remembrances
of diva days of Summer.

Tonight,
the Gates of all realities
may be opened
gently
by the willing
and the righteous,
while warding off
the charlatans
working out their greed.

Simple situations
sometimes start
to set in motion
tiny points of shift
that sift within
the stream of time,
softly swirling
snowlike slips of change.

I think
sometimes we are
the greatest source
of humor for gods
who need distractions
from the task
of being midwives
birthing galaxies.

So set upon the hearth
the thoughts,
and offerings,
brought along
throughout the year gone by,
and try to clarify
all intentions
that may come to mind.

Light the candle,
ring the chime,
recite the ritual
if your soul needs rhyme,
but choose your wishes
carefully to face
the dire chance
they may be granted.

icebox

Much enjoyed reading the alliteration in this well thought out poem...and this

"but choose your wishes
carefully to face
the dire chance
they may be granted."

made me smile.

AMEN!!!  I love the word play in this.  I just love the way you write. "Solstice greetings", if there are such things, or maybe I just made it so... to you, my friend.  ~K~

Yanno, I always figured you should have had a big part in Lord of the Rings LOL, and now you see this proves it to me!  Wonderfully written and not surprisingly either.

My apologies for making light of something so serious -- but mine was granted this morning. I went back on the boards looking for excellence. Here it is.
