There is a place I go to
each night
to renew myself

my own heart

keeps the beat
that moves my feet

forward
into balance

I prefer
forward motion

for steps backward
only make me trip and fall

usually on my face
never with grace

I prefer balance

and find it within
mind's silent corners,
and my heart

yet even when
I am alone within
my own heartbeat
and mind,
I still feel you

and I am refreshed
