You've got the magic fire; if you should light this candle (please do light this candle) it will grow the longer, as if the wax melts cool, flows up the stem and unmelts into thick hot runnels at the tip. Try as you may to do it (try, do it, you may) you cannot blow it out, and if by chance you light (oh yes, oh please do light) both ends, then it will most surely last the night.... |

Ratleader, I always enjoy reading your poetry. You have such a unique perspective, always turning something inside out and sideways. I liked your reversed imagery very much. Sadelite |

Eddy darling man, now this I like muchly, beautiful imagery here, and full of wit too. forgive me my addiction to pink, I simply can’t help it, even if it does hurt the eyes. As I said an absolutely fabulous poem With what, oh this! (wouldn’t you rather I blow it out?) Softly breathing out Each exhale A warm breath of Need Light the candle The softened wax Turning hard again Extending To add length Life To the candle Light my candle And I’ll burn With an incandescence That will blind you Blur your senses With images Of my heat Until The night fades To dawn Marsha as always Mushy Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |
