Red plaid flannel shirt, faded, stained bluejeans. . . .
     blue eyes lit with autumn's gold . . . .
Just remembering.

Happiness cannot be defined -- at least
not that found with simple times,
or quiet hours that beckon not
nor leave the soul with any want.

And even though I can't define it,
It seems as though I cannot hide it
     from you.

For, more filling than these words might write,
You fill my needs' appetite.
And more warm than your flannel and jeans,
My heart is when I'm deep in dream of you.

very fine, very lovely, sweet but not saccharin

enjoyed the texture and the warm feel of this one

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Sunshine -- you brighten my day with your comments!

garysgirl -- Thanks.  Likewise.  I'm glad to and am having lots of fun (maybe too much so).

Sey -- Muchos gracias...hope you're having a good morning.

Sunnyone -- this was actually written for my first real boyfriend who looked like a logger in his red flannel shirt and jean -- not a recent poem, just one that even warms me.  Thanks for your comments.  BEEEEEEE well.

VAS -- Glad you think so.  Thanks for visiting!

Those are my favorite clothes, and I've always wished I could have blue eyes. I'd look worse with those than I do in flannel but I want them anyway.
