I've heard the birds talking among themselves. One chattered incessantly As the other turned a deaf ear. The dissertation annoyed him, So he flew away. The winged orator followed without delay. She insisted he listen -- He said, "No way!" She persisted -- Following him from branch to branch Up and down through green Summer growth through Autumn's changes fallen to Earth, Reminding him the time was short -- Proclaiming the event -- Things to Come. Apocalypic renderings. "Winter's on its way," she squawked. "I'm trying to sleep," he balked. Then I heard her squawking morph, Taking a more melodious form, "Weobaei, Weobaei, Weobaei," she sang. "Now the Gates of Heaven have opened again To pour out on us the Golden Rain." The sleeper felt a drop But he ruffled his feathers And shook it off. Her pursuit went on for light years Until at last he spoke, "Go away!" he said, "you wake me up!" She offered up, "Weeeeoooooobaei." Stillness filled the air. Hours passed, he said nothing. And she flew away. Iliana |

Jo, I would be very interested in knowing what the inspiration was behind this piece. I found it to be a good read! |

I really enjoyed this iliana. I have often wondered what all that chirping and chattering has been about. hugs, Chris "At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet." |

Is Weobaei Indonesian? Birds are a little like people, aren't they? Sadelite |

Sunshine -- what can I say about the inspiration....hummmm.....well, I guess it was a spiritual experience. I really did see these birds carrying on like this...and it was if I could hear them talk...it was mystical! Thanks for your query and for taking the time to read my rendering. |

Chris -- thanks. I'm sure they talk about other things, too! I think birds are messengers. |

Sadelite, nope, Weobai is not an Indonesian word. It is what I would call a "received" word. I've written various things about Weobai, maybe I will post some more at some time. Weobai takes me to different places -- maybe it's an angel; maybe its meaning is a person, a woman or a man; maybe its its the ocean; maybe its the land -- but in this case, Weobai is the heralding song of a bird. Thanks for your interest! |

I like this very much... It reminds me of times when we should listen whether we want to or not. *S* |

If only we each listened well to our own little bird...might this be one's conscience talking? Perhaps... Loved the poem, the message. Very nice... |

Suthern -- thanks for your remarks -- yes, you got it. It's a simple message -- who better to bring it than a 'little birdie.' |

Magnus -- it might be -- then, again, it might be as simple as a message from a higher source -- or, it could be both if the channel is open. In this poem, the messenger brings a word, "Weeeeoooooobaei" I hope to weave that word, Weobaei, into a series of poems. There is another one of my posts entitled "Weobaei" in which you'll see a short explanation. Thanks for your interest and comments. BEEEEEEEEwell.
