Some people choose their path as though
They’ve been denied peripheral vision.
They only see what they choose to believe,
And believe no harm has arisen.

They refuse to see the edge they are at,
Choosing to believe no loss can beset them.
The harm they’ve caused awakens the loss,
And narrows the margin between love and threaten.

When confronted with words of another’s loss,
For the same reasons they choose to pursue.
Their fateful decisions lack the peripheral vision,
That would save them from what must ensue.

If you’ve failed to see where your path leads,
Take a long look to your left and your right.
If the edge is there, take a moment to care,
And then begin using your peripheral sight.

Very insightful with some darn good advice. Another slant on this I found in the Dark Forums, which I think you might like.

Hey LJ...

I'm familiar with that edge and can relate very well to the wisdom offered in your words.

Happiest of Holidays, m'friend.

I like it!
and . . .

The peripheral view seems not endowed
to many who see a linear path
They think their journey is the only one
and others are fools not to clear the way

serious looks good on you!
this was some wonderful advice, and
I love the feel and flow to this...

Oh, there he goes again...trying to touch the "ladies" here with his serious side..geesch!...is there no end to your deception?

(for any of you "new" folks that don't know...I love LongJohn and Balladeer like brothers)...(in fact more, they both probably have more money than my brothers)....but teasing is good for the soul, and laughter is good for a long life, something I pray for daily now-a-days...and I'm ecstatic LJA is here for the holidays....and hope and pray Bally will keep playing till the new year......

Right you are, Toe....we've seen this act before...the crafty sailor coming across with something insightful and sentimental to woo the ladies....and then, before they know it, he's kicking their...cats.

He wouldn't get away with it if he didn't do it so darn good!!

Very nice work, Mike
