*~Beyond the Bend~*

Sitting there
veiled in a state
bewildered, confused,
sad and alone
no friend nor home
is near to you
just a yearning
for what is dear
gazing outward
into mist of night
across the etchings
of concrete lines
where once drawn
in pastel hues
of love known
to you as true
now faded
onto concrete rock...

The underworld
if truth be known
can sometimes be
a lonely place
each passing night
you lay awake
in restless sleep
wondering all the while
if you will trust again
you often choose
to seek retreat
inside the dream
of what could be
ahead of you
beyond the bend
where new beginnings
shall one day unfold...

hmmpphhhh - I thought this was going to be a poem about Balladeer or Toerag or both of them being around the bend, over the hill, gone to weeds, etc.  Instead, you write this pretty poem that's not about either of them (except the title, of course).

Nice piece of writing though.

LngJhnAg... I can't stop giggling at what you write though I must admit you've got a sweet thought of PoetFriend Balladeer/Toerag "beyond the bend" as it could make an interesting poem

GentleSpirit... you're a sweetheart PoetFriend

Hello Coco my friend, it's been awhile.

This suits my mood this holiday season, sad, but with a little hope. Somewhere.

smiles and hugs, dear lady.

I have missed your name in these scrolls.

SweetSweetPoetFriends, you're sooooooooo special and dear2me...
I've missed every1of you a whole bunch this past while but truth is as cliche as this may sound "you're ALWAYS in my heart" wherever the path takes me one thing has never changed and that is YOU, my PoetFriends, are a constant in my life and I'm just tickled pink that things are settling down so that I may be around here for many days/months/years to come...

I'm glad I went looking for you,
this is such a beautiful poem Missy,
that runs true to life for many I'm sure.
Aww... but your title says it all,
there's no telling what lies around the bend.

I wish you joy and good cheer, CocoBaci~
