Once Upon A Child
The world was freed from sin,
In a lowly stable,
Born in Bethlehem.

This Child was born of Mary,
Conceived only from God's breath,
His life was so miraculous,
Even in his death.

He gave sight unto the blinded,
Fed the hungry-clothed the poor,
Gave wisdom to simple minded,
Taught us what our lives are for.

I think that's what God intended,
For us to to on Christmas day,
Give of ourselve and spread some joy,
To those in needing ways.

Think of what you have,
And of those that have much less,
Give from your heart this Christmas Day,
You'll truly feel blessed.

Remember the true meaning
Not the gifts all stacked in piles,
The reason there's a Christmas,
The was Once Upon A Child.....

Very meaningful poem. Your right about commercialism cheapening christmas. commercialism could take anything great and important....and then put it on a t-shirt, uhg! Im not into any religions, but all the same, this was nice to read

Nice write, Toe.  You're still a rascally scalawag, though.

Toe, were you sick the day He gave wisdom to the simple-minded???

Ok, I confess, it's a good poem filled with great sentiment. As I've said before, when you set your mind to writing, there are few finer.

Best of the holidays to ya, my friend

Your absolutely right, we have become way to comercialized...not to mention, just when your not looking they take more and more away from the believers...how is that?  You can come here from any other country...start your own religion and practice it...that's OK...but I was watching a program where they asked the believers to remove the cross from their logo????????

Gr8 poem and writting

Wondering if we could do this all year?  M'friend you did a glorious poem here for the reason of this season, and hats off to you, and Merry Christmas too!

Let there be peace on earth,

.....and all without a single form in octuplicate, or the filing of an environmental impact report....

Thanks, Brother Toe -- we need to bend our minds back toward this straightness.
