Watering my flowers,
Planting my seeds. . .
Life would be so simple
If these were all my needs.

If there were just a shade tree
To cool me in this heat,
My heart would be so happy . . .
My Garden, complete.

My life is my Garden;
My flowers, my thoughts.
Of me, the seed I give to others,
But what about my wants?

I dream of a willow.
There are tears on my pillow,
For my Garden is incomplete
Without your serenity.

Thanks so much, BluesSerenade.  I wrote this when I was 19 years old.  That was many years ago, but still has meaning for me.

Hello Iliana

I took one look at the title and knew I was going to love this.  I find so much inspiration when out in my garden and I have written many poems about it.  Your words took me to your garden and it was a very beautiful journey.

Take care......Sue

Yes, Iliana, if life would be so simple, you certainly bring in the complications so sweetly in your last verse drawing reality into this idyllic image...lovely  ~C

Choshi - Thanks for your comment.  Yes, kind of like the little weeds that grown in the garden.

So true, iliana, it isn't selfish to tend to your own needs and nurture the flower within you. You are a wonderful writer and it is pleasing to read you. Thank you again iliana.
