Underneath It All Under the stars, sun and moon And the clouds that lace the skies Under this thing we call reality Under the nose of your God And the smile of His adversary Under whispered words that will sway you And your thoughts that will betray you Under the laughter of the fortunate And the frown of the misfortunate Under the smell of good things And the odor of rotten things Under the glare of a lover And the stare of a stranger Under this palace, that house, that building Under the decisions of politicians And the wars that never end Under the feet of brave soldiers And under bleeding nails that dig for freedom You'll find dirt. When the soldiers begin to have such thoughts, then there is hope of a global awakening to this truth ... Appreciated. Love, Margherita |
