some inappropriate
dishevelled hair day

I know you deep enough
to predict
your scurry escape
avert of eyes
with feet to follow

Washing my hands of you
water still
does not run clear
dye
caught between
broken dead ends
of my peroxide remains

I grow this toxic out
as if it were you
hungry for
the silken brown
natural
that I once hid

I had become
someone else
for a little while
with you
tangling my thoughts

And upon this day
though mine will not move
from concrete stare ahead
to see your childlike fleeing

I know you will
for I know you deep

(sigh) Peroxide can be a deadly thing sometimes, sometimes its best to leave it all tucked beneath that pompadour and make a straight face!
