Through out my ladder of life, seems to have brought some pain
Watched both my parents leave me,
catching the heavenly train.
One more step up brought decades of infidelity, losing my family home I helped to create.
With my inner strength I decided this must be my fate.
another step up led to years of promises and love,
that turned out to be lies.
why did it take me so long to realize?
If I take another step up, will it
continue to sting?
If I take steps down, will it start from
the beginning?

Keep climbing that ladder! --It leads straight to Heaven!

I seems as though you've had more than your fair share of footfalls along the way. But I do believe that a ladder full of trials and tribulations may be longer than most--and if you don't fall off of it, you will end up on a higher heavenly cloud! Keep the faith and keep on climbing!

why did it take me so long to realize?

I adore this because I ask myself
the very same questions all the time,
wondering why my path has led me thus far,
where it is going, why it went the way it did . . .
always questioning, seeking . . .
But yes, a strong soul you are
and THAT, is something to be very proud of
