I ask myself, "What seek ye?" And cannot make reply. What will it take to satisfy my need? For gain I am not lusting- I can look you in the eye- And say I'm not a servant to mere greed. Nor can true love suffice me. That too has been my lot. And still my hunger has been unfulfilled. And love that's unrewarded, Will wither, die, and rot- And more than one romance I guess I've killed. What do I want? A kingdom! A Roc's egg, can't you see? Those things which mortal man cannot attain. To march with Ceasar's legions, View Cleopatra's courts- And dwell in yurts, and ride with Tamarlane. To live my life completely- And never rue a choice... And when my time comes I will gladly die. I want one friend to tell my story, And one lass to shed a tear, Then lift a glass, and let my body lie. |

I want to die young, in love, and living the life God has for me. Just wanna hear those words 'well done, good and faithful servant.. enter into the kingdom" ah to die young. But, I understand.. at least a little. You take care, sir. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

I like. It took the last stanza to really bring me around, though. That makes the poem, for me. "I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation." |
