Come late September
And the winds turn face
Chasing the geese south
On premonitions that days
Become shorter
And nights
The haven for cold star twinkle
Unblemished by distorting rise
Of heat.

I relish this time
In a lament of summers gone
That wails on the gales to come
And those prematurely born
from some rogue mass
Of high pressure passing.

“Weep for us”
Say the trees
As grass burns brown in frost
And the finery of worn green
Becomes the Persian weave
For our feet.

“I would cry for you”
I reply,

for all the darkened skies
and all the winter storms
that lie now unborn
shall be the bleak
that draws out my sigh

shall break the weakened
heart of limb with ice

but not yet…
for still the sun graces me
with days of passing warm
and you stand poised
to add your fine cloth of colors
to the hillside
where you,
in splendid vanity lean out
o’er the edge of lake
to see the reflected beauty
of such dress
then grace the waters skin
in the float of wind stripped rags

It is not time to cry for you…

I will save those tears for now

And wait

Until naked you shiver
          bare limbs awry
without the robes your form so craves

then I will weep
             for green

oh my....
OH MY!!!!!!
me mothy tree huggin heart is giddy!!!!

You do know what youve done here dont you?
you have just taken all that Frost encompassed with "Nothing Gold Can Stay"..and put a stunning spin of classic Capt poetry on it....
and now.....I have another poem to print out to go in my photo album of trees.

Some day...we WILL say...
we knew him when...................
dont doubt the moth

"If you feel heartbreak, distant thunder, lightning, earthquakes ...
If you wonder why the earth moves ... this is me missing you."

Oh Ron...no not yet time to cry for the green, not time to mourn her, for she is still with us.  There will be that time when brown, then white brings forth grieving for the green.  Do not look to that day, but let the green settle in your mind now.  Live in this moment.

A very beautiful write...one I will recall when the chill reaches me.

Patricia

fall has been quite the muse for you....

I truly must echo the comments of those before me...  This was...  "apparitional" and "melaniscent".  That's the best I can come up with at the moment.  Very nice, Ron.

there she stands
nearly naked, bare
stripped of her dignity
fallen about her feet
dreams, hope and fate
acclimation, acclimation
singing songs a shrill caw
heard in the mist
a lone tear escapes
from sky to branch to twig
stopping to taste
the bitterness of existence
only for a second
before forming, frozen
upon her arms, legs
ultimately her face
I shall not cry
I know this path
the circle,
I witness each passing season
as a notch on my
life
as it is upon her own

Ron this is beautiful
thank you for inspiring me

(big hugggsssssss) There's always the right to cry, but there has to be a good timing to it and in this particular time of year it can be overwhelming! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
