somewhere the innocent drown in their own tears of disbelief and I take my stand of regret lending mercy where there is none becoming one with the lone and forsaken world in my mind I see skies mottled black and blue skies the eyes of heaven bruised with the passings of night coveted like a midsummer's dream all too fleeting all too melodious in a syrupy song bathed sweet, sweet honey drawing the stranger to the hive oh, temptation whilst perfection fashioned an utopian world for me and you it made no reverie from which to burn the atonement of love forgiven threads unraveled with a twining golden sigh as I sleep beneath the sky feverishly watching as it darkens and broods closing my eyes and fearing you shall I be delivered once more into the hands of a nightmare? your desires blacker than the way angels cry these Cimmerian, bloody tears For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, |
