Those rips in my lace paneled sheers tribal scarring of the war a thickened ridge of skin across my forehead tells the tale of was luminescent marks of stretch boasts a belly twice gave life and beneath above the door a fine line from the surgeon's knife speckled arms like fawn fur skin (why would wound boast purity?) remaining white contrast of tan reminding me... reminding me. Considering the fresh of kill-- see a corpse with course inlay damaged goods or life fulfilled? I'll have it not another way-- remove the pins now from the map and toss the ancient tired skins stretch another canvas now the journey just began again. |

...from a look into one's true self, Ceinwyn...one who has the courage to face the mirror, and repeat the truth... Well done, Serenity! Brava! |

serenity...perhaps success can be measured by the number of scars we have? Got me thinking with this one...and counting. ![]() |

Serenity...There you go again, making me use my little brain trying to figure out what you are writing about. Your poems always intrigue me. I always have to try and put myself in your shoes and try to understand your poems, which is what I like most about them, they let the reader relate in a way that only they can. So my gut feeling about this one is changing and coming to the reality of getting older and the changes it brings. Like the old saying goes age brings experience and wisdom. We ride the wave of life and do as we please, then the wave of life gives us a ride and we try to hang on for dear life. The words of a dumb old coonass. Oh by the way I really enjoyed the poem, but you should have already known that...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |
