Over Alton There was something in the distance the miles couldn't complete A message within the hills that overlapped the land Clearly a familiarity even staring at all that unknown Was the moment of character and where he began... It was simply inhaling truth from a breath taking view And, claiming identity in a soul seeking decision It was over Alton and it's inspiration it didn't know it had With a boy and his bible, faith and a vision... Over Alton he looked at what a city was made of As it gave much more of who he could be Choice filled his eyes with a kinder tomorrow To give peace just like that Alton breeze... Living with freedom was the only way his heart chose With lending light to those lost in the dark Serenity and love engraved his ultimate path And, since Alton the two haven't been apart... He carries the sentiment of it all in the palms of his hands Remembering Alton as the beginning to the end Fine direction it lead him over any ground God gave With compassion serving as his infinite friend... It was simply inhaling truth from a breath taking view And, claiming identity in a soul seeking decision It was over Alton with the inspiration it didn't know it had Now a man and his bible, faith and a vision... Hi, Saunni! Good to read you again! The following sentence is one I shall not forget!: "It was simply inhaling truth from a breath taking view" Sheer poetry! Thoroughly enjoyed the fruits of your fine poetic efforts! Warm hugs & smiles, Linda |
