Resting there amongst the memories, upon a wooden hearth, above a once raging fire... as embers slowly washed into morning’s rise. Folded, with just the edge of penned words visible, a mystery waiting to awaken...to be held within the heart of one, given by one other. He knew... She’d ever lightly grasp this morsel within two manicured nails, touching it to a flushed cheek...the slightest of a smile giving away her glee.. She would... Laugh heartily in nervous reaction, subsiding to the slightest of a giggle before... She turned away....walking slowly, ever softly...toward dreams....as he.... Dipped again, once again, a pen...one showing great wear....into the well of darkened conjure.... knowing this moment was slipping into the night...as the hour was nigh... Stirring the mind in penned thought... in poetic song as he... Sang ever softly, upon a moon rise, writing, romancing the night to day... Would the slipper fit a chosen foot balanced delicately upon smooth flesh? He smiled.... As a heel smoothly slipped and once more... dreams carried them both away... |
