First Born ~
Responsible,
Watching out for others,
“Being there” at an early age,
Never really knowing one’s own childhood.
Best to put away this “duty”.
Responsibility ~
Holds taut on those
First Born

Hi Sunshine, great to see you thismorning, this could be very true, depending on the size of the family I think, at times it might be the second born who takes on the duty, I enjoyed the read, thanks for sharing.

Sincerely
Rick

So often very true, probably most often...but my elder brother wouldn't take it, so I had to...don't/didn't do it very well though, because I haven't taken much responsibility for him, just the minimum.

my brother was first...and he fits this well

I was the baby, and would not have it any other way

I'm the exception to this rule, being basically a slacker...

E'en tho' in my sixties,
still I turn to my brother
for guidance,
the first born of my siblings

Thanks to all who carry the lantern of "first born" for those who come behind.

...saved! I am a first born! lol Are you?

One thing I have discovered over the years is that the added responsibility that was put upon me in my early years was actually a very good thing for my personal development! ---I learned, I grew ~ and then I flew! lol

Fresh concept for a poem! Great rictameter!

Warm hugs 'n knowing smiles,
Linda
