Sitting

While sitting silently at home
I let my mind go forth and roam
And thoughts did sit a table’s treat
A gourmets dish with savored meat

I held my rind of circumstance
And there I left my mind to dance
Upon the ruffles of its lace
And warming embers of embrace

It brought a smile, this muse this wraith
It seemed to form by simple faith
This sheltered cove this sandy Isle
A moth a butterfly this wile

That twittered on the edge of glean
Just beyond my touch of scene
And brought a sigh unto my eye
I did not wish it wave goodbye

My butterflies grow fewer now
Fewer those my years allow

Butterflies flutter still in my stomache when I feast on love...

Brilliant as usual...

sy, this brought a smile to the core of this poet...your always so in tune with the eccentric of a million classics, and then some....

Good morning kiddo...wishing you a great weekend ahead, and thanks for this wonderful bageland hazelnut coffee, swirling around in my room.  Lovely

Methinks you are right.

This reads like your old charming self.
Have a good one.

Mr. T. ~

I don't know why, but when I read your title, "Sitting" I cracked up! I literally broke out laughing. I have to think on this a bit while I'm here just "sitting". lol Oh, no! Here I go again.

It's a lovely poem but I guess I have a bad case of the gigglepussies this beautiful late fall day!

Yes, I am a little bit nutzoid at times! ~ but my excuse is that it is because I'm creative! lol

Love ya!

you reached right in my head and turned on the light inside
turned on the light in my mind.

Hi Seymour...damn fine piece this morning my friend. You make me smile each time I get to read your stuff. It's like reading myself sometimes. Not that I can do these themes as well as you do...but sometimes I believe this is how my work will look when I have but matured just a little. Bravo my friend! Very well done.
