Midnight oil smolders
A drift of flame, held
Nearing my palm, that spark

Of verbal stimulation, a burn
Not of fire, but

The inherent rush of
Heart - pang heard
Echoing in the dark, while

Meandearing through pages, hemmed
Of cypress, tales forlorn
Never knowing exactly where
One line starts and end begins, he
Constructs lifetimes, captured
As words, hiding beneath the underbrush
Casting spell of break until
Yesterday has dissipated

Thank you Susie, I love you.

You have always seen more here on the river, than I've been aware of. (and I'm but scant feet from it)

I'm touched, flattered, honored.

You know - I think love gets one in touch with the heart, soul and reason for being on this earth more than anything.  It appears you are there, and this was just another to the pile of wonderful poetry you are pumping out from a place few of us get to ever go, and only dream about. It suits you!

Sue?...you have outdone yourself here...
Of course...considering your inspiration,
that's no surprise...smile

Truly, though...this is absolutely beautiful

Lemongrass
Is that fresh scent of all
That is beautifully spread  like smiles
That create an afterglow in the
Little centre of the beating heart
Ever so fervently as if
Wishing good times never end
In so much as prayers
None so sincerely recited as a
Grand dance in the first summer rain

.....

regards to you Sue... and the pleasure of reading your words is all mine...
