A Winter Game

Leaves are gray now,
not even a respectable brown.
the rain detects this breach,
hissing disappointment
that its work is done already.
Easy to say God's doing this,
pretend it isn't a lie,
easy to play the contentment game,
take what life gives,
forego the responsible course,
to give only what it takes.

I've been waiting to read more of your work... and this was worth the wait. *S*

Your words are wise ones... and are written beautifully! *S*

Oh yes, I like this!
