Her morning routine is not like yours. No hot coffee with toast and jam. The bed she sleeps in is a pile of rags, her bathroom, a nearby garbage can. She is a stranger, but she is also your sister. And when you turn your back and walk away with chin and nose in air and say "I am not her keeper!" you are right. You are not her keeper. But what if you were meant to be her personal saviour? Ok I have a story to go along with this: mann Kacy this dug deep ok here goes: My sisters house burned down and they had no place to live, no insurance, right after Christmas and right after she was married so they lost everything . . . was horrible they lived with my husband and I at the time about three months before that my husband and I were having very difficult financial times . . . we were at church and I dont know why but I said . . . lets empty our pockets into this St Vincent De Paul Charity Box (in the church, we were the only ones there . . we didnt come for mass, we just . . went) The first people to show up at MY door for help with my sister was . . . yep . . . sure was (brought tears to my eyes for we surely got back much more than we gave) sooo . . you never do know Thank you Kacy xxoo [This message has been edited by littlewing (11-18-2003 07:43 PM).] |

Sue, thank you for sharing that story. It's awful to lose everything. She was fortunate to have had you for a sister. And it's true, when you give, you never know when or how...just that it will come back to you or yours eventually. |
