+*+*+*+*+ In the haunting stillness, There beats a spirit drum, Primal in its pounding, Luring me to come. With light of moon to guide me, I follow distant call, Thru' proud native lands, Before the nation's fall. As time rewinds to noble days, With visions reeling by, I'm filled with such a sadness, I soon begin to cry. My tears of woe fall freely, And soak in to the earth. The spirit drum beats louder With the native land's rebirth. It drinks the salt of sorrow, To wash all wrongs away. And with the wailing winds, I am brought to present day. Noah ~ My blood may not be that of an Indian, but my spirit surely is. Since I was a little girl I have been fascinated by, and studied, the history and culture of our native peoples.
