The Lost Man

In this standardized functional world,
A fellow can get by and then die,
Existing as a human machine,
And at no time examining why—

He lets his being be steered and ruled,
By heartless, indifferent, machines,
Living life as a flawless robot,
Survival by artificial means—

Having a watch direct his movements,
Ensuring that he's always on time,
A man who is this mechanical,
I deem it’s obviously a crime.

Obligations beset this poor man.
Burdens no mortal should have to take.
The core of his heart is wound so tight,
That eventually something must break—

He hastens to work in the morning,
And then clambers home tired at night,
His greed and appetite for success,
I have no doubt has obscured his sight—

This cowardly man will never know,
What quickening life in fact intends?
It's not the power, which you might have,
It's the comfort of kindred and friends.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Kevin, this is so very sad and heartaching, dearest friend, obligations truly can tear too many hearts apart, I believe there must be room for some obligation but there should never lack your own voice and pursuing what is more unorthodox! God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kevin, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

...or woman.  It's that easy.
Well done, Sir.
