State of Wide Eye

0 posted 2003-11-14 09:22 AM

I imagined to don a masque,
to slip into and through,
raiding me a rainbow’s view
with twilight eyes that dance in kind

to be another soul entwined

but at the core of me and we
and all the we’s we split into
which offers up silver slivered views
of thoughts that have yet been shared

tells me that I do not dare.

No masque for me, of feathery construct
only imaginations, now and then plucked ~
so to flower the wall, and beige a dream
I shall sit the chandelier, my friends,
as you dance till dawn, seek morning,
again.

For I’ve played this game
and several before,
only to lose myself
through many a door
too many of me, a puzzled flair
emoting shadows in the air.

But waltz the dance,
as lovers do
for the ball’s begun
the lights are low,
take up the masque,
and please you,
just so.

Ohh... hmm... I think I see Serenity... but I could be wrong.

Also I've never read from you before so it's hard to judge this poem in relation to your usual style, or know how much credit I should give you.

Let me just say that I loved it, especially how the subject matter hinted at who (in my opinion) you were emulating.

Nice work...

Faith is a fine invention
When gentlemen can see
But microscopes are prudent
In an emergency.

This has an incredible flow to it and your use of imagery in this is excellent.  Very well done.

a softer version of Ser perhaps... without the edges.. but I am not convinced it is Ser you emulate...

the masqerade is in and of itself a construct of illusion and of hiding... perhaps, we hide less behind the mask than in front..

This CAN'T be me.

Cap's right...much more graceful than I could pen.

(tho the dancing bit confused me, I confess, that and the meter is prolly right for me, that and the irregular rhyming.)

but? I don't me very well either.

scratching me head here, Elan.

(but oh, if it IS me, thank you--I didn't thing anybody wanted to "do" me. giggle.)

Karenity, unsure that anyone would want to "do" her?

I see her here as well Elan, whether or not it was her masque you donned.

Anyone would be flattered by this fine poem.

You sure can write! ~ and write well!

This poem has a marvellously mysterious and surreal tone to it.

(sigh) Oh Elan, I too think it's Karen, but it may also be Martie perhaps! (big hugggssssss) Romance shines in this piece, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Elan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
