I am a mountain like a prairie
I am the sun that brings a chill

I am a dream but I’m not dreaming
I am a rose that has no smell
I am a baby with no crying
I am a heaven that's like hell

I am a fish that can not swim
I am a bird that can not fly
I am a storm without the wind
I am the clouds without the sky

I am a story with no ending
I am a road that leads nowhere
I am a heart without a heartbeat
I am the breath without the air

I am alone when in a crowd
I am music that has no sound
I am thunder without lightning
I am still lost when I've been found

I am the morning without dawning
I am a day without the sun
I am the night without the stars
I am the end that's just begun

As you can plainly see my Darling
I am nothing without you
But if you would please forgive me
I'd be everything for you.

This reminds me a hell of a lot of a poem I once wrote...I actually titled it "I AM"..But I never could have done it as well as you have...

Nice. The repetition of "I am" really drives the poem home. And the juxtaposition of images is a great touch!

I wrote about 18 years ago and had song demo recorded with a little rewrite. Last verse is chorus.
