Listening to every heart

A moonlit path will darken this night
As this 8th of November goes pale
I will watch as the cast of light
Is hidden by a hint of veil

T’will be the earth upon its ride
Through our heavenly skies
That the moon might run and hide
Before our searching eyes

Perhaps the coyote will stand quite mute
And the eagle shall not screech
Nor the owl give up its hoot
As we stand within this breach

Tomorrow eve the moon shall rise
Then hide behind the trees
A sacred rhythm will quit the skies
As I fall, silent, to my knees.

"A sacred rhythm will quit the skies

the draw of the moon has always fascinated me....I like this very much, but I am wondering if "quit" wouldn't be better as "quiet"? I dunno, just reading it both ways

May the light of the sun the stars and the moon shine up the path you have to go.

Thanks

It amazed me how you covered this so eloquently, seemingly with ease.   Sunshine, you just don't quit!

the moon is the poet's muse.  Yes, nature is sacred, moving planets, -your poem puts me in a contemplative mood.  I like those meditations on nature.  Thanks!

Hi Karilea ... I loved this and read it to my daughter and hubby as we sat watching the moon disappear in the night sky.

Tomorrow eve the moon shall rise
Then hide behind the trees
A sacred rhythm will quit the skies
As I fall, silent, to my knees.

This was our favorite stanza although we loved the whole poem!!

This is awesome, K!  CP was hitting me with a bunch of questions on this very topic...you answered them beautifully!  Love the rhyme.  How perfect this is...in every way!

I was at my Dad's... where viewing should have been spectacular. *S* But first a heavy cloud cover, then rain... finally got to see retreat of eclipse at crescent stage. *S*

This is lovely, Sunshiney One! *S* (And the thread now has ellipses. *G*)

I love this, Karilea. It is perfect. And, I saw it. We took pictures, but forgot to turn the dial on the "moon" setting for most of them. I apparently don't know how to take moon pictures, yet. LOL They aren't clear enough to show ya'll.
Hugs
