October breeze blows
Smells of fresh popcorn
Wafts into waiting noses
Feeding the local park pigeons
buttery kernels
While sitting on an old park bench
Momentary glance
Fixes eyes
entranced
smiles spring
Across our faces
As a strange wind blows
scaring birds far away

As they fly away
Either you or I moved
But in a blink
We were sitting together
Snuggling under my umbrella
Looking into each other's eyes
Wordless sighs
As red hearts
rain into our souls
time stands still.

As red hearts
rain into our souls
time stands still.

one of us is always moving

it's nice when the time stands still though, those few rare moments
