Home’s Where I Hang My Hat By: Noah Eaton 11/6/03 Where the southern red oaks sway Is where I’d love to roam Where the yellow-throated warbler sings And Wild Sweet William grows I’ve got my chaps and jingle bobs And I’m proudly wearin’ my cowboy boots But out there every cowboy gets lonely You can’t go chasin’ the sun too soon We’re all cowboys at heart But goin’ out there alone can tear you apart My fireplace feels so much warm than my campfire And from my front porch I can share the stars We’re all outlaws on the run, But everyone needs someone Home’s where I hang my hat, Where my heart feels the love After every dinner I sit a while, After every supper I walk a mile I’ll always go out on the town But I’ll come comin’ back with a smile Cuz I cut my coat according to my cloth And my cloth’s spun from my mother’s hand And I learned how to ride my horse When my pa bounced me upon his lap We’re all cowboys at heart But goin’ out there alone can tear you apart My fireplace feels so much warm than my campfire And from my front porch I can share the stars We’re all outlaws on the run, But everyone needs someone Home’s where I hang my hat, Where my heart feels the love Two-thirds of promotion is motion And time can move so fast I want to be where my pa says grace before each meal Where I can look down at my toes and see the grass We’re all cowboys at heart But goin’ out there alone can tear you apart My fireplace feels so much warm than my campfire And from my front porch I can share the stars We’re all outlaws on the run, But everyone needs someone Home’s where I hang my hat, Where my heart feels the love We’re all cowboys at heart But goin’ out there alone can tear you apart My fireplace feels so much warm than my campfire And from my front porch I can share the stars We’re all outlaws on the run, But everyone needs someone Home’s where I hang my hat, Where my heart feels the love I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (11-06-2003 11:10 PM).] |

Noah...Enjoyed this muchly...always a melody in what you write. And I agree about the home part, but I still would like to have a horse. |

Third to last stanza, you are missing the word look? as in 'look down at my toes'...nice feel to this one Noah, you've got a kind heart yourself! ecrivan |

Hello Noah This was a marvellous piece of writing from you and it reminded me a little of a song that you may or may not know called "Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)" by an English guy called Paul Young. Do you remember that song? Take care........Sue I am in motion |
