(Author’s note: I was called “sweet” by a dear friend recently.  It is a terrible thing to call a man.)

Do women love “sweet?”

Women love ornery curmudgeons
In fact, you cannot budge them.
And women love brawny rednecks
who say words worse than darn hecks.

But women do not love “sweet!”

Women love swarthy actors
when you add in all the factors.
And women love a struggling poet
Who is snobbish, effete and knows it.

But women do not love “sweet!”

Women love drinking sailors
and even mail carriers.
Women love big old loggers
And men who raise hoggers.

But women do not love “sweet!”

Here’s two women after a date:
And one asks the other “Did you relate?”
“Oh he’s very sweet, but I don’t know.”
His goose is cooked, I’ll tell you so!

Women do not love “sweet!”

I really enjoyed this, but you're wrong;  woman do love sweet!  At least this one does.

Ken!!  Women do so love 'sweet'!!
Oooh I love this piece...'Tis a keeper!
'Sweet' to me is referring to a gentle man..
a tender, kind-hearted sort of man.

Now please try and understand..sweetie...
I mean..er,...um...Ken...oh geesh!

Women do not love sweet,
Aye the word means defeat,
If it's spoken retreat,
Sweet is naught but deceit.

Love the poem kayjay. Just having a bit of fun with the word sweet. I think women do love sweet in truth...at least I would hope so...otherwise I am a lost cause! (Snicker.)

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Dear Martie, 'Shine and SC too
I love your comments, yes I do.
I've had my day as sailor drinking
But all it did was get me thinking.

So now I scribe in humble thought.
And, E, of course, I surely ought
to thank you for your words so kind.
But that "sweetie" makes me bind.

Thanks to all.  Ken

Yes.... I've learned that sweet can win 'em, but if a bad-boy comes along they'll follow him like a line of ants.....

(smiles) I also disagree, but then again I'm male so I'm disqualified from this poll! (giggles) Of course every woman is unique so some may like tangy a bit more but a lot sure do like sweet! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ken, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Thanks to those kind enough to drop by and sign.  The comments are wondeful.  For a bit more dialog, see "Sweet men, Part 2".  Ken

LOL... I'll admit I don't want a sugar-coated doormat. *G* And I do like poets... but give me kind, compassionate, sensitive and SWEET any day over someone determined to make ME the doormat... with or without sprinkles. *G*

they've gotta be sweet and rough.. rough enough to be a protector, and sweet enough to hurt with you and look into your eyes...

I like sweet, it just takes more then that too!
But everyone is different! hehe

I do love a sweet man, stuggling poet, oh yeah, but not a snobbish one....and rednecks you betcha but if a man can't be sweet, and thoughtful, forget it....Because even a rough working, tough man, can be sweet, to his lady, to his mom, to his daughter, that kind of stuff.....not one thing wrong with that

I vote Sweet.   Hey, it's obvious--look at the candy industry and its consumers.   We like sweet and a little nutty, too.
