leave the light growing
and leave the sky falling.
leave the reminders
of leaving in autumn.
leave the still flames
and leave the burnt offerings.
leave the long novels
and leave the short memories.
leave the sharp penknife
and leave the dark windows.
leave the wicks burning
and leave the last traces
growing and falling like summer's gold pollen.
leave it all anyway -- leave it to die.

leave the last pages,
leave them forgotten.
leave the last keychain
and leave the last flower.
leave the last plate
and leave the last spoon.
leave the last drug
and leave the last river.
leave the last clockface
turning forever.
leave the last words
unspoken and sour.
leave the last motion
of the last hour.

leave it all now
and leave here with me.

looking for words.

Once I find them,
I'll be back.

If we leave the candles burning
then the whole world's goning to catch on fire.

What about China? Have you seen the Great Wall?
All walls are great, if the roof doesn't fall.

Wind, yr comment reminds me of this --

"light a candle for the sinners/set the world on fire, heh heh." -MM

And SEA, yes, that is the point of it.

I totally agree.  I'm not even "her" and I'd say "OKAY!!"  You sound like a sweetie and such an offer is one in a million.

Great job.

Mike, you look like Tom Selleck (Magnum P.I.---not to be confused with PiP's own adorable Magnus P.I. lol) ~ and you write poetry! Oh, she'll be leaving with you, alright!--and if she doesn't ~ may I?

Leave it up to your fate. And why leave anything, as long as you are secure in yourself? Good writing.

Thanks, everyone.

The only thing I'm secure in is my writing.
