From the Palette of Life

With the palette of my life
And in an angry phase of youth
I made the canvas my midwife
Stormed and raged to paint the truth

I tore into the heart of things
Charged into the windmills fan
Clawed at them with thoughtless flings
That bordered on the manic man

I dug into the root of prime
Dissected down to nothingness
Sifted through the sands of time
Outraged and in a ruthlessness

And with a palette knife I slashed
Covered it with hews of mourn
Pestle it into a mash
And waited for the coming dawn.

And now it hangs obscurity
Upon my wall a mystery

And now it hangs obscurity
Upon my wall a mystery

and something wonderfully intense, makes it all worthwhile....

Top of the morning to ya, and how are we today?  Hope the sun is shining where you are...leaving many blessings upon you and yours.

Oh, I do like this poem...:-)

My goodness, Seymore how you have waxed Quixotic in this poem...

"I tore into the heart of things
Charged into the windmills fan
Clawed at them with thoughtless flings
That bordered on the manic man"

Charging headlong into windmills, perhaps to impress a would be princess.

But instead of winning Dolcinea as a prize, you got a well won painting, to hang on the wall.

"And with a palette knife I slashed
Covered it with hews of mourn
Pestle it into a mash
And waited for the coming dawn."

"And now it hangs obscurity
Upon my wall a mystery"

Enjoyed the read...ice

I should take you to see the
play in our town, "Proof" by David Auburn...
you'd be prime for understanding the
complexities of life that it portrayed.

Well done, Sy!

Oh my Sy!
My thoughts on this one are flying all over the place.
It reminds me of the dreams I try to remember from last night
and I can't quite get them straight..
But, if I were able to hang them on the wall..
I would be able to see it quite plainly!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
~Morning hugs and a fresh pot of tea, Nancy~

You stormed and raged to paint the truth

you are so passionate in words, that I can just imagine what your colors might show!

Buongiorno Maestro!

Sy, you are the master of metaphor...you paint with words vivid images charged with passion's colour...no pastels in this write!!

believe in what your heart feels...

Seymour, I see your paintings in word here,
so brilliantly done.....and, I would love to
see your paintings that JM is speaking of.
I'm sure they are beautiful, too.
Have a good day, my friend.

Okay Setmour that did it! No one man should be able to write this well! Damn this is good and I am really jealous. (Wink!) Okay...maybe not that jealous. Wow the opening stanza is just so powerful. The imagery is so incredibly intense. You have outdone even yourself today! Bravo!

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Sy....Sometimes when I write, a part of me takes over that is unfamiliar, and when I read what she wrote, I wonder where it came from.  Your painting came from that deep artist place where all kinds of muses live, I think.  I wish it hung on my wall!
