Long ago it all began,
Within me, the light so bright,
It seemed my time would never end,
Everything seemed so right.

One day darkness claimed my light,
Rage claimed my soul.
The healer I once was had died,
The warrior lost control.

Much has changed since all Hell broke lose,
And new dilemmas rise;
Confusion leads me into my end,
All will be surprised!

But since then a new path of light has come,
And though I've given up its power,
Still it haunts me, beckoning me back;
Is this my darkest hour?

A part of me wishes to return,
Another still to the light of the past;
Why was I cursed to find two such paths?
How much longer will I last?

So I must leave this realm myself,
I look inside my heart;
I've no more fear of the evil there,
I have my martial arts.

A path from the past resurfaces,
So why am I seen as being so bad?
I know I've caused pain, but don't interfere;
It only makes me mad.

Some condemn me for living my past,
But it's a life worth living;
If I'm to die, at least tell me why,
Or give me my life worth giving.

Because, you see, were it not for them,
I wouldn't risk my life;
You see, it wouldn't be a life worth risking,
One worth the sting of a knife.

Now I think alone, but know,
Should you interfere,
You're only getting in the way
Of things going on right here.

Everyone's so mad at me
For a love that's lasted so long;
It's been around since my life began,
And it was never wrong.

So stand aside and leave me be,
Give me room to grow;
Perhaps one day my mind may change,
As it did two years ago.

But for now I have to say,
And this is no attack,
I've chosen my path, my destiny,
And there's no turning back.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!

Very powerful and captivating write..

"One day darkness claimed my light,
Rage claimed my soul.
The healer I once was had died,
The warrior lost control"

This was quite painful to read..I hope you choose the right path and find light again....

Warm regards,

~MA~

OH , I know you're sending a message with this one.... may I say, you write it well, handle it well.... Looking behind is only a reflection of what was... and ahead, is only ambition.... keep your shoes on for this one..... Got a suggestion for you.

I don't know what message you got from the poem, but I didn't intend any particular message.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!
