Gloom's Haiku? Mmm...I do not deal with Haiku's well...but sometimes one gives me pause for thought. I tried picturing the images you wanted me to see. What I saw in the end was probably not what you intended so I will tell you. I see seeds twirling down from a tree...mayhap a maple tree though I do not know seeds that well. You know the kind I mean though...the whirly kind that spin round and round like helicopter blades. The kind we use to toss into the air as kids and watch. So I don't know if I can call the Haiku Gloom in my mind Sunshine for in my minds eye with that mental image all I can see is childrens smiles and happy squeals. (That is why poetry is an individual thing I suppose.) Well done! Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

Well thank you, Evocative. Yes, I know the seeds of which you speak. Professor Gloom wrote a poem a day or two back, and in that, I left this very haiku, as it was what HIS poem made me think of. So, in essence, this Haiku was for Professor Gloom, as he inspired it. But poetry is all in the eye of the reader. Dixie, is that a satisfied sigh or a sad sigh? Thank you, Marty! Yes, Sue, many neighborhoods are seeing slipped skirts about now... SEA...thank you dear! It's so good to have you back! Duncan, you porch puppy...now YOU write one! I like the images too, Enchantress. Thank you! |

Karilea, isn't it wonderful how each individual can see different images from the same poem? I always enjoy your poems, as well as the replies they inspire. I read them even when I don't reply sometimes. With love and hugs, my friend Ethel |

Ethel, it's so nice to know that you read them, and don't always feel the need to comment. Sometimes, poetry moves me so much, I feel I just don't have the appropriate words to leave behind. If you only knew how much I didn't respond to! Thank you... Scorpio, from my mind to yours. I hope you enjoyed. Thank you! |

Karilea, that's how I am. I just can't find the words at times to say what I would like in response to a poem. So, I just don't say anything...especially when I get in my quiet moods. For instance, yesterday I read a lot of poems, but only replied to three or four, I think. I will admit, though, that I don't get into those "quiet moods" very often.
