You flicked me into oblivion
An unwelcome piece of lint on your life

Pretty beribboned gift of rejection
I'm put in my place - entombed in alone
Forget the cake, it's tequila straight...
Found the worm, but where's numb?

All the old movies have happy endings
What's the secret? Happy's lost my address
I sleep on the couch - less empty space
And crick in neck is one pain I can bear.

Happy Belated Birthday..sometimes I find the couch or sofa soothing..at least I have the back of it against me to make me feel "held"

Hmmmm....me thinks we need to call out the moth-girlies lynch mob....

I got the tar and feathers ...
who's got the torches and rope?

We will teach the bum the REAL meaning behind

"hell hath no fury"

(check your email..the moth is in a snit too)
LOL Hallmark is gonna know my mothfury.

Words break into splinters on the pages I write
If I lost you I don't know what I'd do ...

We love you, sweet suthern lady.

(Well, I tried to put you a song in this one. It didn't work like it did in my original post of my poem last night. Maybe it will in Announcements??)

garysgirl: You sweetie. *S* Thank you! *S* I have no sound here at home (or rather... no speakers... my apartment is VERY noisy today *G*) but I'll listen as soon as I can!

Enchantress: Well... there's always at least a tad of imagination incorporated. *S* I'd NEVER buy tequila with the worm! *S*

Martie: Yup... and thank you! *S*

(big hugggsssssssss) I wish every story can have a happy ending like early Hollywood movies, as you are so deserving of true happiness! (sigh) The story continues and there will come a denouement for you, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I love this. The pain and the rejection are well told, and the bit about Happy losing your address is phenomenal.  Now I'm waiting for the one where you get sweet revenge, and the best revenge is a happy life.

Ow! What JM said! There oughta' be a law.... why is it that some of the best poetry around here also has the most pain in it? Wait, don't tell me -- I don't want to know!

Magnus: Yup... I'm banning the word next year! *G* Thank you very much! *S*

angelblueyes: My cats aren't pleased with the couch arrangement... they think they deserve more room. *S* Thank you! *S*

PS: Accepted gratefully. *S*

Ratleader: But tar's stinky and feathers make me sneeze? LOL And please tell me you aren't accusing this drek of being good poetry? LOL Thank you, my friend. *S*
